  • Headliner shop recommendation

So I recently purchased a Toyota Corolla for my niece who is a good kid, in college and needing reliable transportation. I got it for $1300 and its a great car, except the headliner looks like it was involved with fighting cats.

This model has the sunroof, and I have taken all the A/B/C pillars off and its really weird, the headliner is not one piece. There is a U-Shaped backer that goes from the front of the car to the middle, then a "floating" backer board and then a piece that attaches to the back windshield.

Needless to say, I am in over my head. Looking for a shop that will do ok work for an ok price. Its a $1300 car, I don't care too much, just has to look "ok".

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I am surprising her on Thanksgiving with it.

Where are you? Leo's in McKinney is who I have used on my chevelle when I had it plus some other projects. He's great and reasonable.

They don't specialize in headliners, but try PG's Upholstery in Fort Worth. It's not far from downtown, and they do great work for a reasonable price.

They did great work for me, and I've referred two friends who were also happy with the results.

Well, since someone posted the video on how to take it off, I did my sons Lightning with some headliner fabric from JoAnns Fabric. They have grey, black and few other colors, they also sell the 3-M spray glue. It was pretty easy to do and it saved me a couple of hundred dollars.

really?.... How did it turn out? Does it look professional? I need to do mine.

Wait a sec, you did that within 20 minutes of AbecX posting the video?

x3 They rebuilt a couple of sunvisors for me that turned out really well. They looked like new when done and the price wasn't bad at all.

Yes, it was very nice, his wasn't scratched looking like the Japanese HL's, but it was just falling down and blowing like laundry in the wind. We took it out, sprayed the glue and let it sit over night. Installed it the next day and it was like new. The cloth was like $35.00 for our measurements and the glue was $9.xx, not bad for under $50.00 and a little labor. I think the upholstery shop wanted $150.00.

Trust me, if it was this easy, I would do it.

My Corolla has a sun roof, and for some reason the headliner is in three separate pieces (by design ). The non-sunroof model has a single headliner piece.

I'd happily shell $150 for someone to do it.
