We have the worst damn luck when it comes to hotels.

When we went to Corpus in March, the hotel we stayed in, the carpet was wet and ended up taking on water over night in a storm. Booked it through orbitz so the manager refused to do anything about it when we brought it up.

Booked the hotel we are in tonight about a month ago. No option to request a king size bed. Just a room with a single king or double bed was my selection. No option to request one or the other.
We check in, the desk attendant said double full. When I asked if a king was available, he said there were no rooms available and that there were no notes on the reservation to request a king. Fuck it, $250 for a room for our Honey moon and we have 2 full size beds. We will make due. Not 30 minutes after getting settled in, effing construction on the floor above us. A note in my reservation packet or phone call would have been nice. I would have opted to stay elsewhere.

Personally I'd uber to downtown and hit up the regular Del Frisco's, Grace, Ruths Chris, Reatta or even the Bobs first but the other two places are in the same league. Unless you are a real baller then head to the Fort Worth club and have a meal with Richard Childress, Ross Perot, SVO, and the Bass brothers.

I hope the Del Frisco's there is better than the one in Dallas. The Little Red Wasp would've been my suggestion.

Little Red Wasp is more of a lunch or "just another night out" spot (in my opinion). Grace is owned by the same people and is much more "anniversary dinner night" apropos. Having said that I have not been to the Del Frisco's downtown, just the Del Frisco's Grill, which I love.

We live downtown and are on a mission to try everything around.

We went to the Del Friscos Grille in Sundance square. It was walking distance from the Hotel. The food was superb, we had the nutella pread pudding for dessert, which was phenominal.

Their executive chef is a CIA grad from the NY campus. The same school that produced Todd English, Cat Cora, Anthony Bourdain, Michael Symon, John Besh and probably 75% of the other famous chefs people have heard of. If the Michelin judges ever decide to get out of San Francisco and NYC it'd probably have at least one star.
