Having the police speak out about judging people based on pre-conceived notions is like Christians speaking out against Christ or Colonel Sanders not eating chicken.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I base my effectiveness on how the customer percieves me, and I end more citizen contacts with the citizen wanting to shake my hand and thanking me. That speaks volumes on how well I want to be fair and effective, and I try to set the best example I can for the junior officers that work for me.
"You can get more flies with honey" kind of attitude..

The only think I can do is make my little corner of the world a better place. I am in charge of 13 young (5 years of experience or less) officers and I do my best to set the example, and require them to act professionally.
Any more and I would be worrying myself to an early grave. I signed up to be Superman, but I quickly found out that you can't save everyone.
I just try my best, sometimes I fail, but I always get back on my horse and learn from my mistakes.

I have had a few crappy leo's pull my card in the past but I would have to say that its less times then I have good ones . I look at them just like a soldier doing what needs to be done to keep me safe overall . Sometimes I might be doing things I shouldn't be and get one with an attitude or maybe I think I am right and he doesn't . Either way there are dicks in every line of work and with enough contact you will find some . The big problem I have is the way some of these raids are done . If you come busting in my home in the middle of the night you are gonna eat a bullit or 20 no matter what you yell coming thru the door . This is not in my oppinion the way they should be conducted . If the intel is wrong you could be hitting the wrong house and shooting the wrong dog . There has got to be a safer way to do it for the officers and the public . I know they want to catch the perps off gaurd but I think allot of people and leo's get hurt or killed over some stupid dope bust .Big Rooster Racing
