I know there are some assholes that make the LEO field look bad, but if you folks can ever look past your jaded outlook on the topic, there are stories like this:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A deputy U.S. marshal was killed and two others were wounded Wednesday in West Virginia when a drug suspect opened fire on them with a shotgun and then was shot dead, authorities said.

It happened at 8:30 a.m. as deputy marshals entered a residence in Elkins to serve a search warrant, U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Dave Oney said.

The suspect, Charles E. Smith, 50, was wanted on charges related to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, Oney said. A search warrant for Smith's residence had been issued Tuesday by a federal magistrate judge.

I have nothing but respect, sure there are a few bad apples.
But 99.5% of the time you treat them as you want to be treated they will return the respect.

Cops are just normal people doing their job. You're gonna have assholes in every profession. RIP to those that have fallen in the line of duty.

Even though you're a huge doucher in the gym... ...I have a feeling that we'd get along fine and I love hearing stories from cops. Got to talk to them a lot when I was working at Putt-Putt in Hurst when I was in High School.

My younger brother and sister are both officers. One in Hurst, one in Garland. My brother can turn it off when not on duty. My sister changed alot and has no filter.

RIP to the officer. The usual FTP threads are showing Leo's engaging in misconduct. How does Leo's getting caught doing something wrong on tape make someone pointing it out have a "jaded outlook"?
