Rock on brother. As intelligent as you appear to be I can not imagine you will find something fairly easily in the future. Orrrrrrr your boss will come back with a sweet deal. Another friend of mines wife decided she was going to quit her big money job with a very prominent local family to find her chi. They came back with part time, work from home, and more money and benefits to keep her. Sometimes you just got to lay it on the line to them.

Matt, PM me if you're interested and we can meet up for beers in the middle of the week for lunch. It's good to be able to do that.

Nope, just a salaried guy for a pretty large private heavy civil construction company. Was pretty senior, but wasn't an owner. Don't miss it at all.

I will say one thing, it's been 4 weeks now and I'm surprised with how fast time is going by. I'm working out more, cleaning up the house, hanging with family, friends, fiance, dogs, etc.

I have a few leads, but I'm just not quite ready yet to dive back in. That said, I know I can't wait forever because it'll look bad...I just don't want to get too complacent.

Quitting a job that breaks you down is one of the most satisfying things in life. I savor the moments where my bosses have realized they fucked up. Its often bittersweet to hear them offer money and opportunities they were previously saying were out of reach as an effort to keep you.

Right now I am pretty stressed out. I am the only surviving senior-level analyst and the only one on my current project, which usually is a team of 3-4 , and I have a rookie manager who frankly isnt doing so hot. She is the type to need everything to be perfect before pushing back to the client or our other partners and that is a luxury we just dont have. It's frustrating to carry her and its been 2 months since her start date and I expect excellence from my management, having a really solid boss in the previous project.

The good news is this hard work is being noticed, but it doesnt mean squat to me unless it comes with a new title and pay raise. I can't pay my bills in "atta boys"

ABSOLUTELY this. I was very happy to turn in my notice and hear how pissed off management was that I did it. That solidified my opinion that they were beating me down for everything they could squeeze out of me and their slave dog wasn't around to squeeze some more.

I here ya. I just got the new title. Now I need the money. Since I'm approaching 25% travel time for this year I really need it. Another weekend away from the family....

I've been looking for a couple weeks, and will continue, but I'm not in a huge rush. I have one or two potential things with some old coworkers in a new business, but if that doesn't pan out right now I probably won't work until after Jan 1.
I'm done with grad school in 8 weeks, so for now that's going to be my main focus.

Most definitely. Let me finish out my two weeks and I'll be in touch.

Without lying, but while ignoring causation, I can freely say, "I turned in my two weeks notice and they filed Ch 11."

Basic Energy -42% as bankruptcy filing looms

Oct 24 2016, 08:59 ET | About: Basic Energy Services, Inc. (BAS) | By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor

Basic Energy Services (NYSE:BAS) -42.4% premarket after announcing a restructuring support agreement with lenders and debtholders under which the company would file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on or before Oct. 25.

The group of lenders and noteholders have committed to provide up to $90M of liquidity via debtor-in-possession financing to help maintain the company's operations.

The plan would provide existing BAS shareholders with a recovery in the form of 0.5% of the company's equity, which would be 0.26% of the total outstanding equity upon conversion of mandatorily convertible notes.

I was actually just looking at the down slide of their stock over the last 6 months right before clicking on this thread. Good for you man. I'm sure you will find something better.
