registering a used car

Bought a truck a few weeks ago and received a good Texas title with truck signed and everything but tx says I have to have a Vehicle Title and Registration Form to register it in my name. I had the guy sign the form and he gave me the signed title.

Well my dumb ass didn't notice that the truck was in his wife's name and she signed the title but she wasn't there to sign the form. I called the guy the next day and he told me no worries we'll meet up and take care of it. Well I haven't heard from him in a few days and he wont answer or return my calls. I'm starting to get worried cause I wanna get this truck in my name before some stupid shit happens.

That wont work if he told the state that he sold it. Had someone do that with a car that I sold, I just called up the toll company and informed them that the car was sold a long time ago, they pulled it up and cleared of the charges to my account.
