Are smart phones worth it?

I guess i'm a luddite. I got a cast off iphone 3g from my daughter. Yes, some of the things it will do are awesome. Web sites load slow as hell, and are pretty much unreadable. Battery life is short. The keyboard is hard to use with my fat fingers. I'm really not that impressed with it.

Hmm, I'm really not sure without seeing the exact error. Have you updated the firmware to the most updated?

For those with the Evo, do yall have problems streaming video from YouTube or other website? I can't watch shit most of the time because it says I don't have flash player. on YouTube the video stops loading after 30 seconds.

Never had a problem with YouTube directly but if I click on a link to YouTube it says it's not available.

Yup. Still get a timeout error when I try to stream.

I go through the pre-installed YouTube app and it will say not available after tryin to load. Even through their non mobile site it does the same.

I tried looking around for you. I didn't see much out there regarding a time out error, but a lot of folks getting a video cannot be played error. I remember when I had the EVO I got that error randomly, but I was using the browser.

There doesn't seem to be a fix from what I saw, but some people said clearing their apps cache helped.

Shit, it ain't random for me. How do I clear my apps cache? I doubt that will help because when I got my evo the first thing I did was try to stream movies. I've tried downloading Dolphin and FireFox but that didn't work. It sucks that I can do a shitload of stuff but stream movies and videos.

My wife and I both have Iphones on a family plan for $148 a month. It is worth it. I use my Iphone when out to check stuff on the internet all the time, news, sports scores, weather.

Yes, I rarely have to get on my pc now days because my iphone can do almost everything I need.

I don't even use a laptop now that I have a Droid (Incredible). If it wasn't for torrent files, doing taxes and the occasional spreadsheet I probably wouldn't even need a home PC.
