Are smart phones worth it?

According to my last bill, largly because of this site I'm sure, I use about 650 mb of data each month. That shocked me a little.

I've got a BB for work, and an iphone for me. I like it.

I have an iPhone 3g and I loved it when I first got it, but that was when I needed to be able to access my gmail account all the time. Now that all my work email cannot be sent to my iPhone, I've lost the utility in it. Strongly considering going to something simpler/more durable so I can beat on it in the desert as well as drop the additional data/iphone charges.

Being able to check email, forum, bank, pay bills on the fly, etc is worth it to me.

Each smartphone I've gotten was progressively better than the previous one I had. I started with an old Treo 300 (it sucked balls but would surf the net), then I got a Nokia 6820 text phone (it was great for texting but otherwise sucked..but it would tether and could surf in limited ability), then a Nokia E70 which was my first REAL smartphone (it would full fledged do internet, email, play music and videos but was SLOWWWWW), then I got an E75 which was great (still have it), but the Iphone 3gs is FANTASTIC..especially jailbroken. It would be total hell to have to go back to a basic phone now. Smartphones can do SOOOO much more than just be a telephone. WELL worth it. You wont regret it.

I use the iphone4 I won in a bet as an iPod touch and I have to admit, it's pretty sweet. I do not like giving so much attention to a little device though.

For those with the Evo, do yall have problems streaming video from YouTube or other website? I can't watch shit most of the time because it says I don't have flash player. on YouTube the video stops loading after 30 seconds.

I would say yes... Even my mom and dad use smart phones now and to be honest, I never thought I would see that.

Had several BlackBerries and now a Droid. Now way I could ever go back to a regular phone.
