Parents aren't the only ones paying for children to go to school. Looked at your property taxes lately? I get to pay over 3k a year towards school funding and I don't even have kids.

Can't spend what we don't have.
I feel for those who are in danger of losing their jobs, I really do, but there seems to be (I'm no expert) a lot of fat in the public school system. It is absolutely important, but it shouldn't be above cuts. Schools have gotten used to spending a certain amount, but it doesn't mean they need all of that money.
I would have cut entitlement programs first but that's just me."A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

Take into consideration that every home paid less, that's a loot of moolah.Token Split Tail

Throwing more money at a failing educational system hasn't magically fixed it in the years/decades running up to this, so it stands to reason that it will not work this time around.
Don't tell me public school is worth a $hit either. I went to a "Blue Ribbon" nationally recgonized school, and passed without ever doing a single homework assignment because the tests were so friggin easy to ace.
It makes me sick to my stomach to pay my property taxes knowing how wasted the money is in public schools.
This isn't to knock you. From what I understand you are a teacher for the handicapped kids, and that is admirable and would be welcomed at any private school; but just like a failed company going under, good people get hurt.
Such is life. I'm afraid.Last edited by sc281; 02-16-2011, 12:42 PM.
