Does the Ecobee3 show you the amount of times the system was on throughout the days? My buddy was showing me on his phone some of the stuff from his Nest and I liked how you can see from days ago the amount of time it ran and the temp.

I have a nest that I control through my phone and through amazon echo. Its nice, but the features it provides dont interest me. The self learning shit is meh. I really only use it to adjust the temperature without having to walk to the thermostat.

I came across and brand new in the box Nest 2nd Generation for $100 Cash. I know they have a 3rd Gen out already but is it much difference from the 2nd Gen?

My Smart thremo works great and like others have stated it works wonders when out of town or leaving and you forgot to change the settings. Also laying in bed and changing the settings on your phone is awesome. I have an efficient house as it is and this thing makes a noticeable difference.

I have a Nest and like it for the reasons stated above. It's especially nice when you're out of town for a weekend or something and you can open the app on your phone and turn the air back to normal a few hours before you get home... no coming home to a warm house.

I'd just like a reasonable programmable thermostat that easy to program. The ones I have in my house require two hands and your left foot to manipulate the controls and having to set 4 clock times 4 temps for 7 days, each individually, is a pain in the ass and then when the battery needs replacing, it loses all the programming.

I just bought a HONEYWELL touchscreen(non wifi). 7 day programmable, filter reminder, auto settings for both heat/cool. I can program temp/time and choose what days of the week I want it.

Is it worth getting a Gen 2 Nest for $100 or go for the latest one available which is a Gen 3 but also over $100 more

I just bough couple weeks ago, so I'll see what it does in savings.

Not the greatest, but light years better than what I had before and didn't want to spend big bucks on one either.
