  • Scam or not...

SO my wife got a text, looks completely legit for a medical bill reminder.

Now she is getting calls about it but the # is 1-855-896-8453

messages are left with account number etc. I called it is all automated and entered the account number they gave and says I owe 5$, but never mentioned to who or how to get a paper copy of bill. First thing it does is want to verify who you are....i grew up in this age i know scams are everywhere she has had a lot of doctor visits lately too though.

Has anyone had a doctor that doesnt send a paper bill?

Scam. Ignore it. Someone wants your personal info to either or sell.

My kids doc forgot to bill me on something so she sent me a paper bill. I'm pretty sure it's legit otherwise I would give her a call. I'm not gonna send a check in the mail. I'll just pay her next time I see her.
          .....bro....

It could go either way, but I certainly wouldn't pay anything until you are able to get more specifics. If you're concerned, reach out to the doctor's offices that you have visited recently, they'll be able to tell you if you owe them anything.
