Twin turbo 5.0 with DI has long been rumored for the GT500 and as an option for the Raptor.
I'm still holding out a glimmer of hope that Ford gives the languishing 6.2 some love and it appears in the Gt500 as a 7 liter. They could bring back the 429 Boss nameplate or 427 KR or Cobra Jet etc. They love doing throw back names like that. And Ford fans will finally get a proper big inch engine after being stuck with limitations of the mod motor bore spacing for so long.1971 Ford Torino - Time to go bigger and better.

You're right about that Rob, I might pull the trigger on a '12-'14 GT500, they are getting affordable and a you're a KB blower away from almost 1k HP...Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

Yeah, Ford had big plans for it with both smaller and bigger versions planned for Mustangs and trucks (5.5 - 7.0+). Roush ran a DOHC 7 liter version in a drag car. Ford abandoned it when they couldn't get the desired MPGs only to resurrect it for a truck motor.
The motor has tons of potential that will never be realized if it's only offered in Super Duties and a handful of F150s. If it were in Mustangs people would go ape shit.1971 Ford Torino - Time to go bigger and better.
