(Greene County) – A Nixa man faces charges of unlawful sex with an animal after police say a Fair Grove woman found him having intercourse with her cow.

68-year-old Darrell Helton was charged last week.

The woman reportedly told police she noticed an unknown car parked near her barn the evening of June 10, so she went to investigate. Inside, she says she found Helton naked and engaging in intercourse with the animal.

Helton allegedly told deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office that he went to the property, caught a cow, and tried to have sex with the animal. Court documents state that Helton admitted to previously engaging in sexual acts with a cow on that property.

If convicted, Helton could face a year in prison.
