Put yourself out there. Put it on YouTube. I want my life to change, and it sounds like this song will do it.

eh, it'll take a while. it's kinda like that excitement you get at the very start of a trip, and you first hit the key and the engine roars to life... exciting. but fleeting.
time to get to work

I MAY be able to get you connected to Jamey Johnson.
I've been writing for years. I had a couple of local artist cut a couple of my songs. I shopped them to every artist who played our bar, the only one to give it a real listen and give me some feedback was Casey Donahew, but alas, nothing ever came from it. I never fully learned to play guitar, so learning to play them myself never happened.Originally posted by LeahBest balls I've had in my mouth in a while.

Hey Forrest, we haven't talked in awhile, which is sad. Last I knew was you had bought the house, and had back problems. But now you're a father! WOW! Congrats on that ! SO glad you gave up drinking, there's no upside to that.
Songwriter - if you want to make that a hobby, I say go for it. But if you want to make a living of that - it's tough. It's hard to get recognition without years of performing - and you know what that means, years of playing in bars until 2AM, 90% of the time playing covers of others. Not a good move for new father, or someone who shouldn't be around lots of drinking.
But I wish you the best of luck my friend, I do know you have a way of making the improbable happen.

What's up, Scott?
definitely not trying to make a living... there's no money in it.
but honestly? it's hard to get recognition if you suck, have no songs, and play other people's music
I don't do clubs and such, but alcohol isn't an issue. It's not like I'm "not drinking". I flat out just don't drink anymore. I have zero desire for it whatsoever. There are 7 bottles of whiskey on our kitchen counter that have been there since we moved in in Nov because I'm not just going to throw away nice scotch like that LOL
