  • Help with figuring out a hydraulic design?

I was asked to come up with a hydraulic circuit for a winch motor with a separate brake release. Basically, the winch motor is reversible and controlled by a spool valve. There's a separate spring applied single acting cylinder that applies the drum brake and takes hydraulic pressure to release the brake. He wants to be able to push the handle in one direction and have the brake release and the same thing for running the winch in an opposite direction. I was thinking it would be simple to just add a sequence valve or a relay vale but Iv tried to draw up the schematic and it doesnt come out looking right. I tried to find a single lever control valve with a brake release port but couldnt come up with anything. Thanks for any help. Im trying to make the system as simple as possible.

Typically you would just use a shuttle valve that is t'ed in on the A&B lines. It would look something like this minus the counterbalance valves
