He had an sks? How the hell did the PD not get him during a reload? Also, an eye witness said he knows he saw an AR15 for sure, and the media reported that, so there is no way it was an SKS. Only AR15s can kill people.

No one has mentioned an AR as an exact fact and I am sure that the democrats would be shouting it from the heavens if that is what he used. Seeing as how an SKS was not even considered an assault rifle during the ban they have been referring to it as a "powerful weapon". From what I have heard from back channels he had a pistol of some sort and an SKS. Nothing wrong with an SKS; I have a bunch and like them. I do know that there is a pic out there of him in his panther garb holding an AR of some sort but that doesn't mean that he owned it or that he used it against the DPD. I could also be completely mistaken and am only repeating what was told to me.

Edit: Interesting fact; the killer in the second highest death toll mass shooting in the USA used a gym bag full of 10 round ban compliant magazines.

I'm here less and less for the same reasons. Fewer and fewer old schoolers and more and more complete and utter trash.

If it was one of the later SKS rifles that will accept AK mags...then he could have been loaded up with 30rd or 40rd mags...hell even if it wasn't one of the newer ones..my old Tapco trimmed SKS used 20rd mags.

Thank goodness live witnesses are always 100% accurate and for argument's sake it is good to know that every random person out there on the street has enough knowledge about firearms to be able to ID them correctly 100% of the time........or maybe I should listen to an officer who is a friend of mine and disregard what some yahoo said on TV.

Not saying I ever believed him. I was being sarcastic in my other post about being an ar15 since they are almost always wrong on that point. Hard to convey sarcasm somethimes in written word.

How do we stop this violence and at the same time rebuild trust with police? The last 5 or 10 years has seen a growing problem with police abusing rights and departments covering it up. There is growing distrust for cops on both sides. Yes the BLM movement has some legitimate complaints, however those are overshadowed by the fact that they yell about even the legitimate uses of police self defense, like the cop in Ferguson who was getting his face bashed in. That side is so unreasonable that even if all police departments cleaned house today, threw out the bad cops, and started to do business 100% like they should, BLM violence and distrust would still grow. Trust by people like me can still be earned back, but people like me are not the problem we are seeing. So if it appears trust cannot be rebuilt on one side, how do we end this cycle and fix the problem? Does the only path end in martial law, or is there another way? I don't see how you rebuild trust on the other side. Every justified arrest or justified shooting in defense leads to the movement growing in membership.
