  • The Leaf is no more

I turned the lease in today. No more silly electric car. No more range anxiety (it's a real thing!)

No more "best license plate frame ever"

I think the new daily will be more exciting.

I suppose I should include some sort of review.

I can sum up by saying that it's comfortable and inconvenient. Very easy to drive, low-end torque is enough to help you forget that it's slow, and +/- 85 miles of range between charges is bullshit.

Very nice inside. Leather, techno gadgets and the only car I've ever had that sported heated seats in the back.

It was also very cheap to charge. The monthly bill was somewhere around $12-15 to charge it. Never more than $20. Did I mention not enough range? The unintended PITA is that it really limits your ability to be spontaneous. Want to run out to Dallas? I can't. If I go further west than hwy 360, I have to turn around and charge it.

If you'll recall, the only reason I had it was a friend moved to the Philippines and needed someone to take over the last 20 months of the lease. $200 per month was cheap, so there you have it.

I've had it for some months, but it hasn't been my daily until now.

2005 with 56K miles, full Roush suspension, lots of other goodies. The important one is the supercharger. Gearheads dyno tuned it to 442 RWHP.

Since I took this photo, I have swapped out the awful headlights for stock units.

Very nice summation. I want a Tesla too. Tesla - Leaf is a huge apples - oranges comparison. The Model S is one of the most amazing cars I've ever driven.

Well at least, with the new car, he can get to the roots of his problem. Maybe even bark the tires....
