I have seen one small tarantula, but they are harmless and they didn't give me nightmares. THIS DID THOUGH when I saw one flying around my garage!

That said, I have never seen one in the middle east (Afg/Irq) nor in Africa. Now snakes on the other hand, I saw a picture of an 8ft Black Momba that got ran over on one of our sites in Liberia

Well, I need to take back my statement above. I just moved back to Agadez, Niger and we are living in a tent on base. Around midnight one of the guys two cots over from me nearly jumped out of his rack. He kept yelling about a scorpion crawling on him. Nope, it was a fucking camel spider.

So apparently these little camel spider bastars are everywhere put here. So today my insect tent went up.
