The wife works at Fossil Corporate. We get all kinds of glasses for pennies on the dollar.

She brought home ~$350 retail worth of glasses last year for $6. The mark up in this shit is ridiculous.

They were sold by Ray-Ban, on Amazon, no defects, just 50% cheaper than what the Ray-Ban website and any other retail store was selling them for.
Eh, it's hit or miss. I buy damn near everything I can on Amazon, to the point my wife may stage an intervention one of these days. Certain things I have to try on before I buy them, and sunglasses are definitely one of those things. I actually did end up getting the Oakley's from Amazon, because the ones at Sunglass Hut were not polarized. They weren't any cheaper, though. For the Maui Jims, I checked Amazon and they were the exact same price, so no need to wait.

Fair enough, but I just saw Maui Jim Banyan glasses on Amazon for $159 or $169.

I used to buy oakleys cause they were cool, but if sunglasses are expensive - they get lost/stole. Cheap ones stay around.

I have to ask since I really do not understand, are they worth the cost?

Just compare the specs. Better ones generally block more UV rays.

Worth it to me, but I'm opposite of you. If I buy cheap ones, I lose or break them easily. If I spend a bunch on them, I tend to take much better care of them and keep up with them.

For me, its finding a sturdy pair that look right on my face, and have good lenses. Cheap sunglasses can be reply bad for your eyes if the lenses allow you to keep your eyes open to let the harmful rays get to them. You're better off without shades at all in that case.

Plus, with good polarized lenses, I can see fish a lot better in the streams and ponds up here in CO. It's a night and day difference.

Okay....right there would be reason enough.

Both your replies make sense to me. Appreciate it.
