Going to Shreveport in a few weekends just to get away, get some good food, etc. Me, the wife, and kid. Any recommendations? Boardwalk area looks like it might be good but figure there are others. Also suggestions on cool things to do or see that kids will enjoy. Probably be there just one night and we have never been before.

I always recomend the Blind Tiger for a good meal.
We just stayed at the Hilton near the convention center and took a bus to the casinos. The boardwalk is just....shopping.

it was also in walking distance to our hotel. Drunk walking FTW.

I live here...
stay at the Remington downtown. Great bars within walking distance, casinos a few blocks away, bass pro boardwalk across the river. Go see a flick at the Robinson downtown then eat their chicken and waffles.
Take kids to Sciport, alligator park in greenwood 15 miles away from downtown - has a zipline now(i live near this), there is also a very nice splashpad water park in Bossier kids will love, Splash kingdom is fun.
Superior bar and grill(Mexican place) is amazing very kid friendly. The Cub best steakhouse i know of but it is in a 21 and over sidehouse of an old bar. Blind tiger is fineish--meh. Franks pizzeria is great. Have an AMAZING chinese place but it is in a crappy hotel but it wins all kinds of awards, Lucky Palace. Yeero yeero amazing Greek food, looks rundown on outside, inside is all granite very nice!
Just tell me what kind of foods and ill tell ya where to go!Last edited by zachary; 06-20-2016, 08:02 AM.

Leonard's Superclub (I think it is called Leonard's), very nice place to eat. Great marinated crab claws.
Blind Tiger just 2 blocks from the casinos is the bomb like everyone suggested.
Chicago's next door to Blind Tiger is a popular bar/club or was a few years ago.
Superior used to a Sunday tradition for us when I lived there. Great margaritas and mexican food.
Before I moved there for a couple of years, I would spend the weekends staying at the Microtel after they just built it. $59 a night since I couldn't afford the casinos. Every once in a while I could afford a casino or even find a room available. I am sure I stayed at them all at least once. Didn't really have a favorite, they were all equally nice but Horseshoe was the nicest that I remember.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Thanks for the advice guys. Definitely looking for cajun food and seafood if any of those places stand out as must try. Besides the remington is there any other good hotels in that area besides casinos? Remington may be a bit more than we want to spend but the spa may make me try it since my wife loves that stuff.I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

SpaBlue at sams town is INCREDIBLY nice, i work out there daily actually. Nice steam rooms and saunas private showers lounges pool with a bar etc etc...Sams town itself is kinda one of the more run down casinos here, but the spa was redone 4 years ago and is great!
Really hotel wise if your not at a casino they are all about equal priced off of interstate near the airport(not motel 6 kind but holiday inn kind)
There is a holiday inn and a Hilton downtown which would still be very convenient - both nice. Hilton Better.
Ernests is best seafood around, need a reservation type place though.
Herby K,s
crawfish palace
oyster bar
Shanes seafood(great with variety)
boneheads
beccas steak and seafood also good
