I agree with most... Drove both as much as you can and pick one. You'll be happy either way. Personally I think the 16 GMC looks the best

5.3 direct injection has yet to prove itself for the long term like non direct injection 5.3. Lot's of concerns out there from people with carbon but I really haven't seen anything negative yet.

As far as the rocks and shit I agree. But the dropped "empty" toolbox is a more realistic scenario.

It won't deter me from buying a Ford though, I'd just add a hard plastic old-school bedliner with a rubber mat.

      Yup gotta love the hypocrisy...

Ford can talk about how they have the only full size truck with Good ratings across the board for IIHS crash tests. I guess the Chevy needs some work on it's high strength steel.

That said, Ford's "military grade aluminum" ad campaign was stupid. You're essentially calling your market base idiots. Gotta pander to the red neck, 'merica crowd so they can argue with their neighbor that their truck isn't made of coors light cans.

I was looking at the new ford super crews online. The platinum with the technology package Fx4. Is what I'm really considering. But another GMC is still on the table. Just now almost three weeks later the adjuster determined that the old truck is totaled. And he told me I should be getting a call from the vehicle replacement center within the next five days. I guess it's a waiting game now.

That engine is not available in all trim levels, only the upper teer trim levels. Therefore I left it out. Put a tune on that ecoboost an it will dust that 6.2 ltr

And put forced induction on that 6.2 and it will destroy that little v6. 2 snails vs 2 extra cylinders isn't really fair.

So you have to buy the top trim to get the optional 6.2 plus $6k for a blower... $500 tune seems simple. I think the 6.2 is badass motor and would totally rock a denali if I had the coin.

That sucks. I was hoping to get a short bed, regular cab, 6.2 half ton, with one of the cheaper trim levels.

An all motor 6.2 with a cam and bolt-ons is more impressive than slapping two turbos on one the worst sounding engines avaliable at the moment.

The Ecoboost really guzzels gas when you step on it. I guess you can get the Eco or the Boost but you can't get both. The V-8 weighs 50 lbs less and costs only $400 less than the V-6 so the price difference is negligible.

The V-8 truck is a lot simpler under the hood and would seem to have less to go wrong (that V-6 is a tangle of hoses and pipes and coolers and wires and turbos). I keep my trucks for a long time and I believe the V-8 would have a better chance of going 200,000+ trouble free miles than the Twin Turbo V-6. But perhaps I'm wrong here.

5 years from now, how will the eco turbos be doing? will they be spinning fine or losing it? some will be ok, others not. i don't want that problem myself. why is it worth it?

Bottom line ---- V8 if you intend to keep the truck for a long time. That was the deciding factor for me.
We have both at the company and the low-end on the 3.5TT is WAY better than the 5.0. Driving them both back to back, the 5.0L feels completely flat footed until higher up in the rpm band. That said, once both are in their powerband, the acceleration is pretty close and the 5.0 sounds WAY WAY better, plus less complex as you mentioned.

I think I am getting my point across wrong. I did not dislike the eco-boost, in fact I did like it . I don't tow anything heavier than a small fishing boat or motorcycle trailer.
In fact it was almost a toss-up for me. I chose the 5.0 strictly for future maintenance and simplicity of power-train. Plus the sound of the 6 was a huge turn-off for me vs the 5.0.

The 6 is a great truck, but the V-8 was a better choice for me.

That's different than saying the 5.0 felt faster, because it isn't, at all.

My father in law just bought a 2016 ram 1500 rebel 4 door. It has a crazy nice ride and I really like the interior. A lot of it is soft touch. I was in a newer f150 and most of the interior was all hard plastic.

The thing that sucks most about the f150 is the sync, nav, and steering wheel controls. Im refrencing the pre aluminum vody style though

I like the GMC front end best, but have no idea of the interior on any of the new model trucks. GMC, Chevy, Ford, as far as looks go IMO.
