It's also surprisingly affordable considering the location and popularity. Guero's was featured in the movie The Chef and of course Death Proof. They have a parking garage btw, it makes life a lot easier. Congress St parking SUCKS!

Other places I'd recommend are Gordoughs, Banger's Sausage House and Pinthouse Pizza. Gordoughs entire menu is based on donuts and the food is way better than you'd expect. Banger's does sausage obviously but also has a monster beer list. Pinthouse is known more for their beer (it was founded by a former brewer at O'Dell) but their pizza is spectacular.

Austin is one of those cities like New Orleans where pretty much anywhere you pick is going to be great or they won't be in business for very long.

I've eaten there several times and liked it every time. Some people don't like it though.

We got stuck in traffic (surprise!) last year at the roundup, so we walked in to our group ordering. I pointed blindly at the menu and got something spectacular. Too bad I dont have a clue what it was.

Those people are probably expecting something similar to Chili's.

Btw Bill Murray did actually bar tend with members of the Wu Tang clan at Shangri-La. SVO was probably there for that.
