I've had good luck with a box knife and a small screw driver, pry the prongs apart where they are crimping the wire, be gentle or they'll snap sometimes. Pry them open enough to slip the wire out, then once you're ready to reuse, crimp them back and then solder the joint for insurance against the prong breaking off from being re-bent.
