I'm with these guys on this. I didn't wish him dead or anything, but you're not going to catch me sulking in the corner. But rest assured, everyone I'll have to deal with for the next few weeks is going to all of a sudden be life long fans of his. You know like with every other famous person who kicks it.
I respect the man for sticking to his guns. But don't tell me his religion was the reason he couldn't fight in vietnam.

Not to mention he was controlled by an Islamic nutbag. He even admitted to that.

Give the man a break. He was tougher than anyone in here and spoke louder and more fluently for a "cause" than anyone in here ever could. Imagine if we had people like that today speaking their minds instead of all these politically correct, lazy, and weak people?
If he really did serve, he'd end up as a moral booster like Sugar Ray and the rest of the champion boxers who had to. Not like he'd be down in the trenches. Same thing would happen if Michael Jordan or any other figure who achieves "greatness" was required to enlist (and we still had a draft). Let them keep entertaining and inspiring. He probably would have done more good to the military as an inspiration through boxing than serving in the trenches.

He didn't.
