a well tailored "cheap suit" will look 10x better than a cheap tailored nice suit...

Agreed, If your credit is decent enough and you dont already have an account with those places you can probably get another 10-15% off by opening an account that day and making that your initial purchase. Simply pay the account off in a couple of days if you dont like carrying a balance.

Another good place I`ve found at getting great suits is checking out the thrift/Re-sale stores in the richer sides of town. I`ve managed to get a couple of $1000 Neiman Marcus suits within the last couple of years ( and paying to have them altered afterwards ) only be out $350 total for the both of them. That option is rather hit & miss and it sounds like you dont have that much time, just an idea for going forward.

Suit Supply in Dallas. The experience is great, they take real good care of you. You will get a very nice tailored suit for about $500.

I had an important meeting at my old gig, and ended up with oil on my shirt, tie and pants from a customer's shop that morning. I didnt have enough time to go home, so I walked into Men's Warehouse and told them I had an hour and needed pants, shirt and maybe tie ( always carried one in the truck just in case).

They got pants tailored while I looked at shirts, and then gave me a bit of a discount for no reason. I was pretty impressed with that experience.

Good to hear. I was actually impressed with the service. Younger guy knew his stuff and has a good eye for style. I will continue to shop there.

I've heard good things about SS. The only thing I'm worried about is that a majority of their suits are fused instead of canvased.
