Looks like you got what you really wanted. Not sure how motivated the seller was, but I wouldn't sell for a penny less than $25K.
This of course based on photos rather than in-person.
The thing that's throwing me is no A/C, which can be added, but no power brakes or power steering either? Not sure I've ever seen a true Mach 1 without either of those.

It's a driver quality, good looking '70 Mach 1 and I'd be proud to have it. I think anything from 18-24k would be a reasonable price, all depending on how it was built originally and the quality of restoration work done to it.
At the end of the day it looks great and you don't have to be worried about damaging a museum piece every time you drive it around.When the government pays, the government controls.Comment

He had the power steering stuff but it it was all messed up so I didn't bring it. I'll add it later. I got her for $16.5k. He wanted $24k but got tired of tire kickers so he let her go.Comment

Can't beat that price. My fastback doesn't have power steering and I prefer it that way. Classic power steering is pretty numb and over-assisted IMO. That said, the 70 is a bigger car than mine so it may need it.Comment
