The only thing I have had to do to it is standard maintenance--oil changes, filters, grease, sharpen blades, etc. Bought it at Tractor Supply and thought the price was reasonable. I used to have a lawn tractor and the ZT is a much better solution for me.
We help maintain a property where I rent my shop and it's about 4 acres with a few large trees, small hills and a pasture that gets mowed with a small kubota tractor and brush hog. Tractor was purchased in the mid 1990's and has like 60 hours on it and I'd like to just get rid of it and the little 48" snapper zero turn and get a 72" badboy to do the whole property. Would take up less space in the barn and be just one thing to maintain.

Looking at the Outlaw 7200 with the 39hp Vanguard. If I can get decent money for the existing two units, toss in another $1000 I bet I could be mowing happy with the new badboy. Need some real world reviews on them to see if they are worth a crap. Most of the ones suggested in this thread are north of $12k for a 72" cut. Badboy is around $9k and probably less well bought maybe with trade ins....?

    Thoughts?

I like the rear discharge deck so you aren't having to mow your clippings again....

Do these zero turn mowers have the ability to hook shit up, like say a fertilizer spreader? I've seen tractor mowers that have attachable things, but never looked at a zero turn. Or even a cart to haul shit in, like dirt, or whatever.

within reason. You can mount a small trailer hitch on them and pull some stuff. Compaines make a front mount fertilizer spreader but they are expensive. The biggest downside is rear mount stuff that uses levers and what not to turn on and off are not reachable due to the mower.

Cool, thanks. We're looking at a place today with just over an acre, but I think a tractor mower will suffice. Not hilly, not a lot of trees, etc.
Doubt we get it, we finally gave up looking after over a year, and are like a couple days away from a refi, so we'll decide this weekend.

You'd save a lot of money... If I wasnt mowing the 2.5 acre lot I have, I wouldnt have bought so much mower. Lawn tractor should be plenty. Just do research. My neighbor is on his 3rd John Deere... guess he doesnt learn.

Im not sure when, but Deere is all made in China these days. Even their tractors until you talk about their large farm tractors. My neighbors little lawn tractors have just stopped working. One seized engine, one broke a spindle for the lawn mower. The broken spindle was an older one that he replaced with the one that seized its motor. The new one has trouble starting but hes still using it.

Have a symplicity broadmore tractor .nice cut and a lot less vibration then my old craftsman rider. Had it for five years now and still as good as new.they have a full stripping roller behind the deck to keep from scalping the grass.

Yeah, you want one. I never regretted one on properly a little larger. I had a 43" deck on 3 acres and it was perfectly fine. I don't really think you need a bigger deck on that size property.

I picked up the Bad Boy Maverick with 60" deck. I wanted something with some type of suspension. The Scag Cheetah was out of my price range and the closest Ferris dealer is 30 miles away. A Bad Boy dealer is about 5 minutes from my house and I think the price for quality on the Bad Boy can't be beat. I also added the Grammer suspension seat.

I'm needing a rider, too, now. Limping along with a MTD 20HP 46", about 16 years old, and I'm tired of repairing it. Replaced the steering shaft 3 times in 2 months now and the steering gear. It keeps stripping out and I can't figure out why.

Anybody with experience with Husqvarna or the Cub Cadet? Been reading good reviews, but don't know much about them outside of that. Friend of mine loves his Deere D140.
