  • 1 month of dual paychecks

I made the transition from my offshore gig to my new position over the last few weeks. It was rough, LOL. For my offshore gig I gave my notice in such a way that I had already began working my new position as Service Development Manager with my new company, which is actually my old company from 2 years ago. The day I gave notice was pay day from my offshore company.

Then 2 weeks later I was paid from my new company and my offshore company on the same day - dual paychecks.

Today is payday again, so I received regular salary amount plus all my accrued PTO from offshore company - of course I haven't stepped foot offshore since Feb 22nd.. plus I am paid from my new company again.

Since starting my new company April 29th I have done a few days work out of town, but mostly have handled some tech support stuff from home.

Meanwhile I have burned up all the dental benefits from offshore company for my wife and I, and my new benefits will start in another couple of weeks.

Next week i'm going to run up to Kansas, then Wisconsin. Week after that I go to Ontario, then Quebec.

Early June I am going to Italy for factory training on the machines I've been working on for 2 years already.... Forli Chessina or something like that.

Anyway, I have very few complaints.... NO valid complaints..

    Damn.

    Solid barg.

I'm finally back into decent money, but I'm more excited to talk about how much I love the company I'm driving for. This family gives me Cate Blanchett with their equipment and credit card. They send me out with an idea and allow me to complete the task at my discretion.

I mean, I'm not dealing with millions in portfolios, but these dudes tell me how appreciated I am on a daily basis.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I just got the deposit for 23.6% payday loan, so I know the feeling well.

You know what? When I wrote that email early this morning I was quite full of myself and there was really no reason other than blatant braggardness and a feeling of non humility and what not....

I have not lived from check to check for quite a while. I did do a bit of manipulation to make the start and end date work out the way they did, and on top of that, I felt quite proud of myself for sitting on my ass and collecting quite a bit of cash, LOL...

But what the heck. I am gonna earn my money and kick ass for my new company, that's why they hired me back to begin with. And, I did the same for my offshore gig... so there's no shame in enjoying a little extra bonus money...

Chris, there isn't a damn thing wrong with celebrating success and treating yourself here and there.

I used to love when I'd get hooked up on a sweet job transition! LOL I had a few nice ones over the course of a few years.

I would take 4-6wks off, I would take advantage of work relief, vacation time, "extended notice times", end dates, start dates, etc.

These are the little treats we afford ourselves through our hard work. Nothing wrong with it. And nothing wrong with celebrating/sharing it with friends!
