  • 10 year anniversary what to do...

Having a one year old my wife does not want to get tooo far away for this occasion so no big celebration on some island...and we probably wont do a whole week either...maybe.

We love the outdoors and hiking. Thinking of going somewhere where could do a small backpacking trip also. Have done all the local usual spots, hot springs, little missouri river, Gulf shores, etc etc. We did the hill country trip but it was a few years ago, same with broken bow, beavers bend, robbers cave....

What are some other withing a 5 hour drive destinations that some time could be spent outdoors then "relaxing" at nighttime.

Bob Sandlin has trails, mountain biking and a trout pond.

We went to Tyler State Park this weekend and it was great. Its nothing special as far as things to do though. The big trail was only about 4 miles.

If it was our choice, I'd forget all that camping and hiking and just party in New Orleans.

                    Ah then No'leans is out.

True story on that park. It was pretty amazing how clean it is. Now if they could do something about the damn coons!

B&B or private cabin at one of the good parks? A little bit of nice and the outdoors. With the B&B, they're usually pretty good at setting up "extra" stuff for when you arrive or while you're there.

Coming from a bitter soon to be divorcee, best gift to yourself is to make sure you don't have to celebrate a 11th year anniversary...
