I'm extremely biased but every time I see some one in an autoparts store who drives a bmw/Mercedes/audi they only buy one quart of oil because they can't afford an oil change. Max out their credit to get the car and can't afford or are too stupid to do maintenance.
Not saying that volvo or other brands are crappy but typically they are owned as leases and people couldn't care less about running no oil changes for the lease period
