    What is it like commuting 635 in the tunnel?

    I have a couple of possible leads which might mean a commute from 635/30 to 635/121. Is the tunnel under 635 an HOV or single commuter toll?

    Single commuter. It's expensive as fuck. But, there are VERY few using it so you can get from 35 to 75 as fast as you want.

        635/30 to 635/121 ?

        ***EDIT - Ok, wasn't envisioning where 635 met up with 30. The Texpress flies but it's expensive. You can check in as an HOV before you leave to get 1/2 price through the Texpress - I have no idea how it works or how they'd bust you if you did it solo, but I know a guy I work with does it when he and his wife share a ride. Jesus, that sounds like a long commute, regardless.

            Gets pricey! Every time I've been on it (off peak), it's been like driving around at 3am. Maybe 5 cars in site. Turns an hour of sitting in traffic to a leisurely 15 minute drive.

                          It's worth the money. The average speeds are around 90. However, that's also the case on George Bush, despite police presence.

                              Yep, epic road and butter smooth. I've seen 138mph indicated in the Lexus SUV (pretty much top speed), 160mph in the Vette (45mph short of top speed), and 140mph in the P (40ish mph short of top speed) on that stretch. It's awesome.

                              Did hear cops are patrolling more down there, including laser motorcycle cops, so beware.
