What is it like commuting 635 in the tunnel?

cruised 150+ a few times. super smooth.

will do again when heads and cam are done for a top speed run.

the laser moto cop thing is not inviting though. I have yet to to see the law down there, but I am never ther during peak hours. lunch time and weekends.

even my truck was bouncing on the soft limiter there.

635/30 to 635/121 ?

***EDIT - Ok, wasn't envisioning where 635 met up with 30. The Texpress flies but it's expensive. You can check in as an HOV before you leave to get 1/2 price through the Texpress - I have no idea how it works or how they'd bust you if you did it solo, but I know a guy I work with does it when he and his wife share a ride. Jesus, that sounds like a long commute, regardless.

I was browsing their site a few weeks back looking into this. If you sign up for the HOV discount, it said they will have police officers reviewing the photo's for your vehicle tag. So if they don't see two bodies, I'm guessing you'll be getting something in the mail.

And yeah, their site basically says they are going to price gouge you so you can keep moving above 50 mph. The slower 635 is, the higher the price. It's real easy to get use to the convenience but I noticed two $80 withdrawals in less than a month from my bank account for NTTA. I may have to rethink that convenience. Also, I take if from 635/75 to 635/35. If the free 35 south exit is backed up, I'll take the 35 South toll exit which then carries me all the way to just past the Loop 12 split.

That 635 toll road is way over priced but I use it every time I'm heading to Louisiana. The drive from 35-E to I-20 goes by so much faster that way.

But as a commuting route, it's just a stupid waste of tax money.
