  • How many of you "have an attorney"?

Seems like in all the TV and movies, people have an attorney. I have never been in position I had to hire an attorney, much less could just name one should an issue arise. I'd have to go to the yellowpages and start searching. I just wonder what it means when people say "talk to my attorney" or "my attorney will contact you". Do all these people just have such troubles they have an attorney they work with repeatedly and call them "theirs"?

I don't have one, but I definitely hear my fair share of the "I'm going to talk to my attorney" line, usually right after I repo a car. I even got threatened with a judge once.

my attorney is the reason I usually get warnings whenever I get pulled over...

Thankfully I only had to use him twice last year.

I'm embarrassed to admit that he charges $500 for traffic citations, but they always get dismissed and I never have to go to court or anything.

I keep my record squeaky clean. That way when/if i get pulled over out of town, I stand a good chance of getting a warning. And, if I don't, I keep my ability to use defensive driving open by not using it locally.

I'd say I get 5-6 warnings for every citation I actually receive. I makes a big difference when you get pulled over for hauling ass and they pull up your record and it's absolutely squeaky clean. I always just be cool and own up to my dumbassery. Tends to work out more often than not

That's when I found him and started using him for my tickets.

They intionally were offering 12mo probation, 180 hrs CS and a 2,000 fine. He told me he would be right back, and I got 40hrs CS, 9mo probation and zero fine. That cost me $1500 however.

Ever since, I've only be given 2 tickets, both speeding and he got them dismissed.

This has been like 3 years or more ago.

I've heard the "you'll be hearing from my attorney" from many tenants in the eviction process now. I keep a straight face to make them feel better.
