It's worked great for me for the last two years. After an initial adjustment period, I've found that I've become pretty much temperature indifferent. I just run ceiling fans and the occasional oscillating fan for whatever room I'm in on those hot summer days.

Anyone got ballpark replacement costs for 3 ton and 4 ton units. full replacement of electric furnace/air handler/evaporator with all new line kit and outside condenser with re-using existing ductwork?
Our house has two heatpumps here in college station and both are leaking and freezing up about every 3 or 4 days. Had one contractor out and his price would put a kid through a nice tech school. Total asshole quoting $28k total price for about $8k in equipment that I can buy wholesale. I told him to lose my contact info.
Anyway, I'm considering ordering some Rheem variable speed systems and doing the install myself and then having a contractor come out and charge them then do the final commissioning but if the price for replacement is in the $12-14k all in range like I expected, I may just pull that trigger and bypass the headaches. I always priced this sort of work at around $1400-1500 per ton...
Anyway, thanks for any pricing input you A/C sales guys might have.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyWould you like your reparations in 5.56mm or 7.62mm?
