I wish the LEO would file a civil suit against the kid's family for about 5 million stating that the perp created undue stress and poor judgement and has now led to him facing criminal charges, loss of job, etc.

Originally posted by The King View PostTo say it's OK to stop crime at night by using deadly force is not what the law says. It only allows for a defense to prosecution after doing so. It is still likely that someone who uses deadly force against another, particularly for a property crime, will have to justify their actions to the satisfaction of a grand jury.

Moot point for me, as I would not use deadly force simply to protect property before or during the nighttime, unless I perceived a threat to my life or the lives of others. Human life to me, even that of a wanna-be hood rat, is more valuable than property. Got to love the internet badasses though who claim they would do so, from behind the trigger of a keyboard.Last edited by The King; 03-18-2016, 05:44 AM.

DALLAS — A Texas teen shot by an off-duty police officer admits he and his friend were stealing third-row seats out of the back of an SUV on Sunday, but he doesn't understand why the officer used deadly force over stolen property.

As I believe most people to be adults and capable of making informed decisions, I will believe a thief to have come to this conclusion and accept their decision.
