The Uhaul store by my house fills them. They gave me a sticker for the tank that takes $1 off and charge by how much they add. It's about $10-12 typically when I get it filled. Last week I had one filled that still had 4 #'s in it, but it was too cold to deliver. Getting it topped off did the trick. It's way cheaper than trading them.

I don't keep those little 20# tanks around like you see sitting outside in those cages at grocery stores, farm and home supply stores, Walmart, etc, I just hate having to fill them up so frequently. I haven't had to fill mine since we moved back though, but before we moved I would fill mine at a place like Nations Rent (equipment rental outfit) for next to nothing($1.10/lb). They basically didn't care about making a profit on it, I assume because they went through so much that they were already getting big back end discounts from the propane supplier, so the more they went through the more money they were making on the back end. Anyway, I have (2) 40# cylinders, one is still completely full but the other is about empty so I'll be checking around on prices as well.

I have two. One the wife bought brand new that I get filled, and one that is for swapping. I always try to keep one on hand if I run out.
