Law enforcement in this country has no one to blame for that but themselves. I used to be pro police a long time ago and even thought about going into law enforcement at one time. It's not like I always hated police, but over time I have paid attention and seen what most of them really are about, so fuck most of them. I have very little respect for them now vs the large amount I used to have. What is really sad is I am not alone. More and more americans feel this way and this used to be a country where most respected law enforcement. But like I said they did this to themselves.

That guy is fucked. He and his homie had ended the threat, mom was already outside of the car and the attacker was driving way. While I empathize with the situation, it doesn't give him carte blanche authority to exact vigilante justice.

Sounds like he hit what he was aiming at. I have tons of reports of cops unable to do that with dozens and sometimes hundreds of rounds and they are never charged.

Edit: I agree with Lantirn. If it's not okay for someone to shoot at someone who isn't an immediate threat to self or the community, same should be applied to cops. I seem to remember "equal application of the law" somewhere. Where was it....somewhere like "supreme law of the land...."

Just to be clear I wouldn't do what he did, or at least hope in the heat of the moment I wouldn't in anger, but I really would have a hard time convicting him knowing law enforcement gets away with it often. Plus seeing as an assailant is dead, I kind of want to call it even. Hate on me for that opinion if you will, but that is where I am at.

I'm torn, but I really want to side with the shooter.

On one hand you have a woman beater.

On the other you have a kid looking after his mom at 18 and maybe some other kids if I'm reading that article right.

I get it, from a legal point of view he maybe screwed. My OPINION is that he did the right thing on this one. I'm only focused on what was told in the story, and based off that I say "good work."
