Question about self directed IRA, real estate, income property

I'm interested in these SDIRA's as well, but from what I've gathered there are only a few folks that do them and there are very high fees and restrictions etc. That said apparently my uncle does all of his rental property business (~30 rent houses near TTU) out of his SDIRA.
