  • good local place to sell comic books?

I have a box of ~100 old 1950ish books I would like to get rid of. Most of them are Dell walt disney stuff not really marvel type comics. I have researched some of them online but would like to find a reputable place that wouldn't screw me if I have something decent. I would like to sell as a lot but don't know many local places and don't trust anyone nowadays unfortunately!

I think Titan Comics in Dallas will buy old comics. Half Price Books will take them off your hands, but you would be lucky to get $10 for the lot.

I've sold a couple of my silver age comics on eBay with decent results.

I've not traded comics to them, but there is a place off golden triangle I trade cards at. There is also one off 121/ harwood that I've done business with.

Bot will look up the average value on the nets and give you a percentage of that, although I can't remember how much.

Every comic store will fuck you. They buy at 20-30% and sell for 4-5 times over that. Every time.

Unless you have something they personally want (and you know it) is the only way to walk away even.

20-30% is if they are generous, those things sit on the shelf a long ass time.

If you want their value, sell them yourself and spend the 6-10 months it'll take for the good ones, and sell the rest in bulk. Otherwise 20 to 30 cents on the dollar is realistic.

There is no short cut here. If you don't wanna get fucked like a Tijuana showgirl I suggest you do the research as to their value and then sell them yourself. Like Abecx said, it'll be at least 6-10 months to get rid of it all, if you are lucky.

If you decide you don't wanna fuck with that, let me know and I'll shoot you an offer.

Ebay. Only other collectors will give you what you think they're worth.

Comic stores are like the pawn shops of the comics world. They aren't buying from you because they want it, they're trying to turn it for a profit.

Oh, I didnt mean to sound like I was accusing anyone of any wrong doing to my distant relatives or that you were holding me down, sorry about that.
