Another place I like to go for steak is Rafain in Addison. Much cheaper than Fogo, they have more cuts of meat and dessert is included.

They always have dinner specials 2 for $50. And lunch is under $20 per person everyday.

I'm not a fan of Longhorn. They're kind of gross like Logan's. Might as well be Appleby's or the damn Sizzler.

Don't know about the operations here, but the Logan's up north are horrible to say the least. That is unless you like slow, unattentive service, luke warm food, & an over priced menu. As for Saltgrass, y'all can have that shit too. Never, not even one time, have they ever cooked my steak the way I asked. Always overcooked, like all they know how to cook is medium well. Waste of beef and I send it back every time. At least TRH cooks the bitch the way the I ask, rare or medium rare is not beyond their capability like the other 2 I mentioned. But that is another reason why for the most part I prepare the steaks we eat, so they are exactly how we like them.

Some of the suggestions in this thread are revolting!

Saltgrass is real good. The bread rocks.

Agreed, but not everyone can drop a couple hundred on dinner once a week.

I can't believe I forgot this, but the Hard 8 in Stephenville has badass ribeyes if anyone's ever down there, cooked to order. They're also about $25, and they used to run a special on Thursday nights for $20. It might be worth checking and seeing if the one in Coppell does the same thing.

If you love Texas Roadhouse and think that you are eating great quality beef when you are there you might want to look into trying a Golden Corral. There's probably one in your area.

Also I think it's called the "Diamond Cut Ribeye" at La Hacienda Ranch - add the Sunrise sauce and it's not too bad for the "casual" steak dinner.... I think it was $28.

The absolute best steak I have ever eaten was a chunk of tenderloin we got from Costco. I sliced it into 2-3" filets and seasoned with sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Grilled them medium-rare to rare in my backyard. I have had everything from cheap to high end at different places and nothing has come close.

You guys need go learn how to grill and screw buying overpriced junk from these chain restaurants.

I agree. The best steaks are the ones cooked on my grill. I cooked some t-bones a few weeks ago that were nothing short of phenomenal....but they were pricey.

I agree about screw the chains, and I agree that you can cool a damn good steak at home, that will blow away the TR, Saltgrass, and Outback types. However, you can not and will not convince me you can cook a steak that will touch the same cut from, say, Bob's. Your grill doesn't get hot enough to replicate what the four and five star steakhouses do. And there is no substitute for the heat they have on tap.

With the exception of the actual chef on the board, I'll put my skills up against anyone here, and I can't even do it. And I've tried every way imaginable to get temps as high as possible. While the higher the temp the better they get, there is no substitute for 1800 degrees.
