Anyone hiring certified welders?

Friends son has all his certs, anyone hiring on good jobs in the Dallas area. I told him he probably would have to go down to Houston to get paid his worth, but thought I'd ask here.

Local 100. PM me. he can hire on as a permit hand, and not have to join the union right away. I actually talked with our hiring manager last week and he was telling me how much work he has, and howhard of a time he is having finding welders that can pass a background. what cert's does he have? we dont MIG around here.
