I could have easily just sold the car for the price I was given and walked away happy. I did want to get my wife into a new vehicle so I figured I would see if GVF would get close to the trade in I was offered. All I had to do was tell Tony I got $xx,xxx from "insert dealer" and without hesitation he said "yeah we can do that." I knew I was given a generous offer for the car, hence me being quite content to let GVF have it in trade and also reap the benefit of the tax break on the new truck.

I think you're reading into it a bit too much. They are making strides to get us back as happy clientele. The owner is overseeing this also, as Josh alluded to. If you're hell bent on just finding the negative in their updated way of handling the board members I don't know what to tell you, dude.

I appreciate the input and I'm sad to hear the past negative experiences.

I'm not just a "sales guy". I've been on the board a while including pre Canada times.
The owner here really does care about the car enthusiast. That's why I'm here. They both had to do some work to bring me on here but I am very glad I'm here. I have a lot to learn but I also have a lot of leash. That being said if we can't work a deal we can't work a deal and I have no problem telling you that up front. I'm not here to waste my time, or yours.

GVF was known as the place to go for Mustang guys/gals and that's what is going to happen again. Give me a shot and I will have no problem earning your business. I might not make everyone happy if they can't get what they want but I promise to be a no BS dealer experience which is hard to come by.

In the month I've been here I've already had two come in off the board and bought and have a great experience. Another came in and I'll sell them a car when we find what they are looking for.
I've heard from several folks that you do your best to give a straight deal.
Sometimes your hands are tied and that blows, but I have heard good things about you.

Thanks Mr. Snatch. I can't take huge losers but I can be honest as to our pricing and trade values. So far I feel I've done a fairly good job.

Im not reading into it too much, im sharing my experience. You quoted me....lol

Good for them for making an effort...lets see it stick. But for now, ill treat it like another rodney alias...expecting it to go right back to normal in no time flat.

I can see your point, but to counter it we haven't had a dedicated board presence since Skip left. We now have Josh who has the ability to operate the same as Purdy did directly under the owner. It's a different animal than the GM (Tony) trying to get involved in salesman deals and them sometimes getting lost in the shuffle.

What "Josh" are we discussing here?
Big Purd moved down to CC with Skip. Did he return or different Josh?

I'm little Josh. I bought 2 cars from Skip and we still talk frequently. I consider him a good friend. I'm not just a random piece here.

For those that don't know I've had 6 mustangs. I came on here about 6-7 years ago when I had my 98 cobra that I terminator swapped. Since then I had a 2013 TVS 5.0 and I have the 350R on order now.

Daily is a Focus ST that I autox from time to time. So I'm a lot more of a car guy than "salesman".

It is EXTREMELY difficult to get ANYONE in car sale to even ball park your trade without it being on site, blind bid. Josh did it with no problem. I gave him no indication of what I thought it was worth or what I owed before he gave me a number, and what he gave me was fair from my research. Just the willingness to put a blind on a car for someone he has never met gives them a plus in my book. I live in Greenville, so it saves me a lot of hassle to be able to do that and not waste my time with a dealer who is going to try and screw me on my trade.

It was a regular practice for us when I was selling but we did a lot of business with out of state buyers and it was almost a necessity.

Berkshire Hathaway owns it, they bought it from the Van Tuyl group. Chaz Gilmore is the managing partner, if memory serves me right he married daddies little girl and was given the dealership.
