Sounds like the solution is to drive old cars if companies are making it a pain in the ass to get cheap parts. I know some of you are mechanics so you still have to deal with the bs but if your customers bitch there isn't much you can do. They bought the damn thing, after all.I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

My 98 seville had a water cooled alternator. Talk about an expensive bastard to fix.

It is all part of a manufactures greater scheme. Make the parts non rebuildable and sell as complete units if possible. If you make replacement parts worth a small fortune people will be more prone to just get newer vehicles with in warranty coverage.
People talk a lot of smack about aftermarket parts but can you imagine how out of control it would be if the dealers/manufacturers where the only suppliers like they want to be.1997 Miata - Weekend\Autox Car

Now this wasn't a Ford extended warranty, it was a 3rd party, but so far I've yet to find anything they would have covered

Do your homework and read the fine print, I've had good experience with extended warranties too.Interested in being a VIP member and donating to the site? Click here http://dfwmustangs.net/forums/payments.php

I heard the Nissan Nukes are the same way. Its probably cheaper manufacturing in total to combine so many parts into one. Especially with how throw away we are, people just want things to work, if it doesnt, just replace it. I haven't had this problem yet, hopefully i never do. Sucks, good rant.
