You aren't competing with the guy at the top when it comes to buying houses, cars or plane tickets or anything else? I am just trying to understand the logic because all I see is envy.
I really don't see how you are missing the point. Why do I have to be envious to want to see people do a little better for themselves? I have already explained why the guys (not the guy) affects everything I purchase. Don't get me wrong, I see the multitude of other bullshit taxes and misc other fees that support useless government agencies, that bleed money from people also.

The wife and I have no kids and do fairly well. I am not displeased with my situation at all. I have worked my entire life, as has she, and we do fine.

Envy is what I see as well from all this. I just don't get people being mad at others for doing well. Fwiw the wife and I bring in about 100k or so but I don't get mad because my ceo makes millions. Our company is successful so he is doing his job and being rewarded for it.

How does a guy making a million dollars prevent you or anyone else from doing better for themselves?

I'm trying to see it from both sides, I think that if the guy at the top didn't make such an ungodly amount of money, that money could be distributed among the workers?

Couldn't that money just come from profits? Besides that, take what these guys make and divide it up equally between all of the employees and see what you get. Alan Mulally has made $300 million while running Ford since he has been there. I have no idea how many employees Ford has but go find it (I am going to bed lol) and divide it up and let us know what you come up with. It will be pennies in the grand scheme of things.

Google says 224,000 employees so that is about $1,300 each if I didn't fat finger too many zeros.

                Basic principle of socialism...
I'm amazed at the attitudes around here about CEO's and people making what their worth.
So do you same guys think the lot lizards and detailers at the dealership should make as much as the top tech's that have a brain and can actually fix shit. Same principal.
Its all about perspective. I'm in mid level management. I make more than the guys/gals that do the job. Guess what, I can and still do the job, BUT I got other crap to deal with and handle. That's why I get paid more.

I don't have a problem with CEO's, that's not the issue because they honestly just dont make enough ( at least as a whole ) to make an impact as you're well aware. The problem is the worlds richest 62 people making more than the poorest 3.6 billion humans on the planet and its not getting better/balanced. Its that big business gets more money in government stipends than the rest of civilian Americans earn. Its the amount of superfluous bullshit we have government entities for. Do I have solutions? No ( well yes but they aren't technically viable at this point ), but identifying a problem is the path to finding a solution, I just hope we figure it out before I pass on.

If we're going to talk wealth distribution I'd rather see it done out of our taxes already being paid and actually put into the communities. I'd much rather have $60 million go to a community scholarship fund than a football stadium.

You would, but people like the residents of Allen would rather see the money go to the new stadium. That is what their votes indicated. It's not like school districts can just decide to drop $60 million on a stadium on their own. I suppose they could if they had a $60 million budget surplus, but we all know they don't. So they put a bond up for vote.

I understand that's what they voted for and I find it pathetic.

It was and the stadium was closed last season. I believe they have deemed it functional again.
