The system is a losing business that drains money either on defendants or the tax payers. Corporations make the profits off the system.

When I was a kid, people could go to college and work full time, with out having any debt when they were through. People working in menial jobs could still survive with out much assistance from the government. The top went up at a ridiculous rate and the bottom stayed the same or close to it to support the habits of the super rich or whatever the fuck. I have worked in very very diversified communities in LE and in retail and sales. I absolutely understand how hard it could be to get ahead or out of those communities. When everything you have ever known or seen does not assimilate with the world at large, how do you get out of that? Were it was once shameful to receive welfare, it is the norm now. I don't give a shit what race or gender you are, that is a hard climb to make.

I make a decent living because the wife and I work and do well. Before I put my wife through college she had a hell of a time making it on a dispatchers salary. In her thirties, stuck in a rut with bills, full time job and barely making it on what use to be a fairly solid middle class salary. This is a single person, not a woman or family with kids.

On another level. I absolutely see how the system looks slanted. I am very laid back in what I do because of this. Now crimes against people or property then screw you. But how do I lock up ever swinging dick for minor offenses when you have the elite thumbing their nose at the system? Treason-no problem, lying under oath-who cares, selling guns to the cartel-meh we were trying something, wiping out everyones 401k-too bad. I mean what the fuck? We really need to get off this us vs them mentality and fix this fucked up country. Vote em all out, start over, something. It is going to be a long hard process but we have really gotten away from what this country was founded on. Holy shit we had the tea party over taxes. Now tell me what in the hell is not taxed now.

Income inequality is also known as laziness. We live in the best country in the world for getting ahead using only your two hands, if you are able bodied and can't make it here it is your own fault.

While i want to hate on the notion that only the black community is mistreated, the end result is the same. This helps citizens as a whole.

Officers should have to follow the same rules of engagement as our soldiers. Officers should be locked away for good when they protect their dirty partners and brothers. But the status quo would have never addressed that.

So while i cautiously approach this, i think the black lives matter community is accomplishing something the status quo hasnt been able to get.

            Flame away.
I will give you this much, cops should not be out there beating peoples asses or shooting people for no reason. I am not naïve enough to think this does not happen. I am absolutely for cops being accountable for their actions. Now that I have said that, if you take away the instances that were based on a lie, or stretched into something they were not, you are left with very little. I do not work with people that act stupid and I will be the first to get in your ass if it starts going that direction. The media is having a field day with cops and the only people that will quit applying or drop out of the work force is the guys you want in that spot. Not like this is a high paying, super laid back job. Cops are given a little more of a reasonable doubt because we are put into situations every day that most people run from. I have had to make life or death decisions two or three times in a day before. Luckily for me I performed well that day or wasn't having a bad day. I have the gift of gab and kill em with kindness until they make me go another direction. Luckily in my 15 years that has been very rare. Most cops do not give the chances I do before going hands on and they have every right to do what they are doing, but sometimes it looks bad or is bad. We do have a very specific rules of engagement that departments follow and most do not stray. It is how that is applied that looks different from officer to officer. Also the one theme that remains constant in most of these cases is non compliance. I am not saying that gives any police officer a reason to kick, beat, punch or shoot, I am just saying how might have that went differently if the defendant had just cooperated. You start fighting or acting stupid and some people can't keep their cool. I have not once ever took a swing at a suspect, even after a good chase, and guess how many suspects have taken a swing at me?

Keep up the war on police and I am afraid people will not like the consequence. Then when it swings the other direction, it will take years to train competent forces and get everyone back up to standard.

Do black lives matter ? YES

But the BLM movement needs to look in the mirror - the leading cause of death for black men under age 50 - is being killed by another black man. But black on black crimes don't count - do they?

I wonder how some of these officers roll out of bed to protect these sorry ass people. This war on police is a bunch of bs. If you act right the police aren't a problem. All lives matter so cut the bullshit

The top wages have climbed sky high because they have not had to compete with millions of people from outside of the country competing for their jobs. The lower skilled jobs have had nearly zero wage growth since illegal immigration started up again en mass in the early 70's.

College tuition has climbed out of sight for many reason but the number one reason is the government loan policy's that have distorted the market. No matter what tuition cost there is someone who will finance it if you just sign on the dotted line......

DING DING DING...We have a winner... Letting all these people come into this country has a direct impact to the work force.. In the words of Uncle Joe "You can't go to a 7-11 or Dunkin donuts without a slight Indian accent"
Oh and just a spoiler alert, Biden will be the Dem's nominee at a brokered convention ( just my sneaky observation)
Wanna make good money ? Learn a trade. Not everyone is cut out for college. I wasn't. Welder, HVAC, yes even guys that install toilets can make a decent living. It's honest work and theres nothing wrong with that, that's what this country was built on.

You've all missed the key word -- entitlement. Just about everyone, LEO's included, in this country thinks their entitled to something. You have many of the BLM protesters not working and mooching off family and the system. You have LEO's thinking their entitled/empowered to do what they want. You have many that are well to do upset at their boss making double what they make and believing they should have everything their boss has. It goes on and on.

If people would stop with the entitlement BS and go back to truly earning everything - wages, a leg up, that new TV you want, RESPECT, etc. -- then you will see improvement. In the meantime, it's just posturing.

                        Maybe.

Personally I think we messed up when they bailed out the banks, GM, AIG, etc etc. They should have let it all collapse. That is how our system was supposed to be set up. Let it all fail, and then pay CEO's what the company can really afford. But hell no, we bailed them all out. Not only would we of had a collapse at the top but it would have taken many other companies out with it. Instead here we are paying stupid salaries, perks, and bonuses to something that should have failed. That is where America failed the middle class.

I agree that there should not be a government bailout of any business in America but have you read up on what actually happened with the bank bail outs? More then half of the banks did not want or need the money but they were told that they would be forced out of business if they refused to do what they were told to do.

We don't bat an eye to bail out billion dollar companies but tell dual income families of people making $35k - $50k a year to work harder and to better themselves. We let them fail and tell them it's their fault and to suck it up.

It makes no sense. I made over $250k last year and I still feel that I should be getting a bigger piece of the pie for my efforts, talents and experience. just because I feel the system is broken doesn't mean I am blind to lazy employees or satiation of position by some. Betterment shouldn't mean we have to give up our lives for companies. I've worked from home everyday for the last two years and have got to see my daughter grow up and be there for her while I work whatever hours I want. That is what we should be striving for as employers and what employees should be demanding as well as giving the money where it's due. Athletes hire agents I feel I should do the same at this point.

We should be striving at ruling the world in income equality. I love this country and this state but feel we could do better to share the wealth. when we solve for the wants and needs of everyone, we will progress as a species. Hope I get to see that.
