  • Can I leagally repo someones machine that they didnt pay my invoice on?

I have 2 different people that havent paid me for work I did over 30 days ago. One is $1100 and the other is $700. How does the process work on heavy equipment? Im assuming I just file a mechanics lein and send them a certified letter? Then go take their stuff. A customer of mine told me that he just goes and takes their stuff then calls them and asks for the money they owe him or he's gonna sell it. I want to make sure that all of my stuff is in order before I go take anything. Knowing my luck Id get charged with theft.

I think they changed that a few years back. You may have had to file BEFORE 30 days after the work is done. You may be have o go small claims instead of the mechanics lien.
      Check DPS form VTR-265-m

You need to run that past an attorney. Seems like a great way to get your tit in a ringer.
