I agree that the price is a bit high, but with the seeming plug and play ability, and the fact that you won't have to actually do any flying, I think that it can be justified.

I mean, if you do stuff that would warrant such a camera! lol

register it by early next year or you could get three years in jail

        Holy Chet!!!

f you own a small drone that weighs more than a pound, you must register it with the FAA by February 19, 2016.

Failure to do so could lead to $27,500 in civil penalties, with criminal penalties for continued failure to register expanding to fines of up to $250,000 and / or up to three years of jail time.

How are things going in the past? You should bet on some bowl games while you're there.

well I discovered that you can go full manual with the solo and do acrobatics (not my video):

and found this crazy shit while looking around at drone videos

Sorry, not sure how to embed videos?

                Just an update:

Been putting in time on the Solo, still flies amazing and no more near crashes (crossing fingers). I still haven't installed the gimbal since I'm still learning and should I crash or have a flyaway I don't want to be out a $400 gimbal as well. My goal is to start using it in Acrobatic mode (full manual) within a month. Pushing it out further and further and trying to fly via the video feed vice looking at the drone, but I still haven't left line of sight yet.

Going to my hunting area here in a bit, hopefully I'll have some cool wildlife videos :-D

BIL has gotten good enough to fly inside a big church and film. i'd be paying for trim and painting .
drones are big in ranch real estate . show it without driving all over it .

So just an update on my drone....

about 6-7 flights in the Solo developed a pretty bad side to side oscillation, you can see it in the video especially at the edges and also while looking at it in a hoover head on (the GoPro swings side to side rapidly). Now I have not yet installed the gimbal and realize that the gimbal will most likely fix this but my concern is that it wasn't there before and now it is.

I hit up 3DR about it and had a less than positive experience; 3DR has a reputation for having GOOD customer service so I am assuming I just got the village idiot. I am pretty sure the guy helping me has never flown a drone and he just really wasn't helping me remedy the issues. Ultimately he strung me along for a week then told me to submit a formal help ticket. Aggravating. I'm going to try to return the drone in exchange for another Solo and see what happens. If I keep having issues though I am ultimately going to return the whole thing and go with the DJI inspire.

In this video I have two different flights; one of the first flights followed by one of the side to side oscillation flights (starts around 2 mins).

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Go to r/c groups and start posting in this thread......

                      http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2391450

They all have issues and none of them are perfect. Gains probably need adjusting. I dont know if that is the right 3DR term for it but I guarantee the guys over at the r/c groups can help. That thread is over 1200 pages long and has over 18k post in it. If its been fucked up they know how to fix it 5 different ways.
