So if 1 bushel of peppers weighs 36#, then 40# is 1.11 bushels. A bushel is 8 gal dry volume, therefore 40 pounds of dry peppers is 8.89 gallons of peppers.

So ~two(2) 5 gallon buckets worth to put it in perspective.

Your bushel weight isn't accurate. 28-30 lbs per most Ag standards.

So at 29# per bushel, that's just a pinch over 11 gallons dry.

Your buddy should build his own with a stainless drum and an old trolling motor, would be cheaper.

That's what happens when any idiot, like Gasser64 can edit the info.

He wants to load them up, set the blender timer, and not sit there and feed peppers in for hours at a time. A 5 gallon bucket also will not hold 10 gallons of liquid, but I'm sure you'll find a way to argue that as well.
The point is the dude isnt going to spend $14k on a hobby. Home blender by home blender, hes going to blend his peppers in batches.

Are there leases available for commercial kitchen equipment like most other things, or must you outright buy it or nothing?

Also, standard 220V power for something like that blender - or does the kitchen stuff tend to require something different?

So far he likes the Wal Mart return policy idea the best, LOL.... by the way the hot sauce he makes is pretty bad ass. We all eat it out here on the boat with every meal that hot sauce goes good with....

Kinda hot, so a little goes a long way. He lives in Arkansas and all the local restaurants, diners, and country stores carry it, plus he's got a lil' website...

Sounds to me like he's at the point where his hobby has turned in to a business, which means investing in higher quality equipment to ramp up production, make life easier, and decrease down time.

I'll go ahead and bow out now. It's clear that your experience working in the medical field has made you an expert in the food manufacturing business.

Yes. Ice machines and dish machines are the most commonly leased equipment, and there are companies that do nothing but ice/dish machine leases. We do have a lender that will do a lease on any kitchen equipment though. We offered 0% on our lines for a few years when construction was down, but I think it's around 3.4% right now. We do not lease anything ourselves though. I sell it, leasing company pays us in full, purchaser pays the leasing company.

The roll around liquidiser I posted a video of is 220v. Most stuff is 208v/1ph or 208v/3ph, but some require 480v/3ph when it comes to heavy food production.
