Man....it's stressful living with family even when everyone is trying damned hard to get along and be respectful. At that age, with kids I don't blame you for just wanting your space.

The further north you go, the more affordable - but I do not think there is enough availability as of now. I know Ashtonwoods and a few other builders are starting up this way though. Plenty of places to buy lots if that interests you, and then build custom on it.

I know crap about townhomes though. I wish ya luck, I can understand your issue.

Is that why i've got real estate agents knocking on my door weekly? I bought the house for 90ish 2 years ago same house across the street without a pool sold for 175k. I keep telling them i'm not selling I love this place!

Move out to the little shed in the back yard.. It would be like an efficiency!
Good luck Cruz! I hope you find a nice pad soon!

I know where there's about to be a 3 bed, 2.5 bath unit available in Little Elm for way under your asking price... PM me for info if you're interested and I can get you more details.

North Plano has a few townhome communities that would fit your requirements. Nice areas & good neighborhoods. Good shopping nearby. I'm an owner but there are an increasing number of rental units. I'll update this post later today with the names of the communities that I have in mind.

How are you having trouble finding a house?? You have 80k and can afford 2500 a month and you only want a 3 bedroom?

I used Redfin on my last purchase and have nothing but good things to say about them. They even give you a rebate at closing! I got around 1k towards closing costs.

You are going to sign a lease for a home and then find a house you want to buy the next month. Just tough it out at your dads.

A $350k home requires me to put down $70k, and $40k-$50k of that $80k i have is going to taxes. Renting doesn't require a down payment the size of a home, and I do not want to be rushed buying a home otherwise we'll get stuck in something that we overpaid for or in general don't like. Many shitty homes are on the market right now under $150k, and homes that are in the $180k-$220k are typically 20% overpriced from what we've seen. As well, we are picky. Dont want a two story, want half an acre, want 3000+ sq ft, want mature area ( full grown trees ).

Is building out of the question?

No, we've been researching building a home. Linked is the type of home we've been looking for, dated interior aside, everything else is perfect. I have money to clean it up etc. We've placed 3 bids on this home and keep getting beat by cash offers.
