  • Expedited Passport options

I need to renew my passport in order to be able to travel within the next few weeks. Has anyone used a third party to expedite theirs in the past?

I do not have a travel itinerary or a confirmed travel date yet. Which makes rushing one nearly impossible.

I can't even find anywhere local to renew it at. Are the post offices no longer doing them?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

We always went to the post office and paid the extra fee to expedite.

I don't know if that has changed or not.

Took me about 2 weeks to get it when paying for expedited service via the post office. This was back in 2006 or so though. And yes, post offices still do them.

If you're able to swing it, you can go to the office in Houston and get it same day.

I wouldnt reccomend this but I went on a vacation about 3 years ago and me and the Mrs. figured out that we had lost our passports the night before we were supposed to leave. Long story short, take all the appropriate info to the passport office in down town Dallas within 2 weeks of travel date and in our case same day with proof of travel plans and you can have a passport in a single day. Its pricey though.

Looks like the USPS off of Mark IV still process the applications. Expedited is still 2-3 weeks since I don't have a confirmed ticket. I can save a few days on both ends of shipping if I pay the $19ish each way.

I tried to get an appointment in Dallas for same day but couldn't talk my way past not having a ticket for travel within 2 weeks.

I guess I can do it first thing in the morning and pray I don't have to leave in 2 weeks.

But do you have to have a ticket showing that you are traveling within 2 weeks?

No. It still gets mailed off. Roughly 2 weeks.

I paid for the expedite fee it took a week to get mine. You have to have a valid reason.

So I had to expedite a Passport a couple of years ago to get my CHL renewed because I was born out of country.

So I'm getting ready to renew my CHL and I'm going through the checklist of items I need and I come across this "Born out of Country Documents". Any idea what it is and if I need it since I have already had a CHL for the State of Texas? Reason why I'm wondering is I was born out of country while my dad was in the

I was surprised at how quickly I got mine. My mom was actually going to be traveling out of country not to far from when I had my passport done and she renewed her's as well.

7/24/2013 - Submitted Passport renewal and expedited.
                        8/03/2013 - Received Passport.

She didn't expedite her Passport and I want to say she got her's maybe a day or two after I did. Hope this helps.

I beg to differ. It was same day in office passports when I went. Maybe it changed but I know I got them in about 2 hrs that morning and went straight to the airport and caught a flight to mexico.

I went to the office in the Cabell Fed Building in Dallas, walked in, dealt with the BS, and walked out later that day with my papers.
